The Trivia Smackdown is a fundraising event for the Des Moines Public Library Foundation. Supporters had such a good time at the past events, we had to do it again! One attendee said, “The best part of the DMPL Foundation’s Trivia Night was finding out that the rest of my team was brilliant!”
Marnie Strate, the popular and entertaining Trivia host, will once again challenge teams with her fascinating questions.
Friday, April 12, 2019 from 7:00 – 9:00 P.M.
Trivia Smackdown will consist of 8 rounds, 5 questions per round. There will be a 3 to 5 minute break for scoring and prize drawings between each round. There will be an intermission between rounds 4 and 5. The questions get progressively more difficult within each round. There will be links hinting at each previous question’s answer.
Teams may purchase correct answers with a limit of three sets of cheats. Each set of cheats is $40. Each set is comprised of stickers numbered 1-5. The cheats can be used in any round. The cheats are stickers that can be applied to the answer cards. Cheats must be used for the order of the questions (questions are increasingly difficult). The numbers can be applied to questions of lesser value, for example, you can use a number 5 on any of the questions. You can only use a 1 on the first question, 2 on questions 1 and 2, 3 on questions 1-3, 4 on questions 1-4, and 5 on questions 1-5.
